Expectations, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities

• Adhere to A+ policies
• Arrive on time and appropriately dressed
• Be in the classroom ready to begin the day at scheduled start time
• Demonstrate warmth and understanding in behavior management
• Address behavior challenges by communicating desired behaviors using positive language
• Develop secure and loving relationships with children
• Demonstrate a willingness to experiment with different "languages" during daily routines
• Assist in providing for all areas of a child's development
• Assist in providing a developmentally appropriate and nurturing environment for children
• Assist in implementing daily activities to provide multiple opportunities for inquiry, problem-based learning
• Assist the lead-teacher in keeping the app updated (posting at least 4 photos per child per day as specified in the app expectations sheet.)
• Assist the lead-teacher in establishing classroom routines
• Maintain a clean environment and use proper sanitization procedures
• Report all accidents and incidents verbally and in writing to parents and the HR Director
• Participate in on-going in-service and educational development trainings (15 hours per year)
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all the children
• Help maintain current and accurate records on all children
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Assist teachers in collecting samples of child's work for meeting with parents and sharing their progress
