Multicultural Community Center (MCC) is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Part-Time Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our early childhood learning team in Rantoul, IL. This is an entry-level position and is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to gain experience in an early childhood classroom. Previous childcare or teaching experience is not required. We provide training and support to help you succeed in the role.

Rantoul, IL Responsibilities As a Teacher Assistant, you will work alongside our lead teachers to help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines Engaging with children through play, conversation, books, music, and learning activities Supporting children's social, emotional, and developmental needs Helping children transition between activities and routines Assisting with meals, snacks, handwashing, toileting, and other daily routines Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Helping supervise children both indoors and outdoors Building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers Following MCC's health, safety, and classroom procedures Participating in required staff training and professional development Working collaboratively as part of a supportive teaching team
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Dependable and punctual Able to work well with young children Patient, caring, and positive attitude Willingness to learn and receive feedback Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and other staff Preferred, but not required: Previous experience working with children Coursework in early childhood education, education, psychology, social work, or a related field Interest in pursuing a career in education or early childhood Why Work at MCC?
