In this vital role, you will step into classrooms to support students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum and with developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive quality education and personalized support. Your enthusiasm and commitment will foster an inclusive environment that promotes growth, independence, and success for every student. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to special education programs while gaining valuable classroom experience across various age groups, from preschool to early childhood education settings. Responsibilities Provide classroom support by assisting with lesson implementation and classroom management for students with special needs. Support students with disabilities through behavior management techniques, physical assistance, and communication facilitation. Collaborate closely with special education professionals to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. Assist in creating a safe, nurturing environment by managing behavioral disorders and supporting students with autism spectrum disorders. Support literacy education, math instruction, and other core subjects while adapting lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and developmental levels. Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and staff. Qualifications Prior experience working with children or students with disabilities in classroom or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education practices including behavior management, curriculum adaptation, and classroom support techniques. Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals. Ability to handle physical assistance needs for students requiring mobility or behavioral support. Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is advantageous. Demonstrated understanding of childhood development principles and classroom management skills.
