Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to support classroom activities, foster a positive learning environment, and assist students with diverse needs. Responsibilities Support classroom instruction by assisting with lesson implementation, including curriculum development and lesson planning aligned with educational standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Provide behavioral management support for students with special needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral disorders, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Assist students with disabilities or developmental disabilities by providing physical assistance, communication support (including American Sign Language), and behavioral interventions. Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education professionals, therapists, and parents to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs). Support early childhood education initiatives, including preschool and toddler care, within Montessori or other specialized frameworks like literacy education and basic math skills. Help maintain classroom organization, manage behavior, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive student information. Engage in classroom support activities such as supervising children during activities, assisting with childcare duties, and supporting literacy and math instruction. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities or special education needs, including autism spectrum disorders. Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies tailored for students with developmental or behavioral challenges. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and supporting early childhood education programs such as preschool or toddler care. Experience working within private school environments or special education classrooms is advantageous. Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student success. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while providing physical assistance when needed for students requiring additional support. Pay:
$16.00 - $17.50 per hour
