A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

The selected candidate will play a critical role in promoting student success by providing behavioral, academic, and transitional support throughout the school day.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide direct 1:1 behavioral and academic support to a middle school student Assist with behavior management, de-escalation techniques, and redirection strategies Support safe transitions throughout the school day and proactively prevent elopement Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under school guidance Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and behavioral support teams Maintain a calm, professional, and consistent presence in challenging situations Document daily behaviors, interventions, and student progress as required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Paraprofessional, Behavior Aide, or similar role Prior experience working with students demonstrating challenging behaviors strongly preferred Strong behavior management, redirection, and crisis prevention skills Ability to remain composed and effective during escalated situations Reliable attendance, punctuality, and commitment to the full assignment duration
