ELL Instructional Assistant Position Overview:
Tippecanoe Valley High School is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered English Language Learner (ELL) Instructional Assistant to support students whose first language is not English. This position works closely with classroom teachers and school staff to provide instructional support, language development, and academic assistance that helps multilingual learners succeed.
Rate of Pay:
Starting at $13.80/hour (or based on experience), approximately 28.75 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Provide instructional support to English Language Learner students during classroom instruction. Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce language development and skills. Support the implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs). Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence and academic growth. Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, teacher of record, and administration. Maintain confidentiality of student information and records. Perform other duties as assigned by administration and the teacher of record.
Qualifications:
o High school diploma or equivalent. o Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. o Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required. o Previous experience working with children or English Language Learners is preferred. o Ability to pass all required background checks.
