Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and flexible Kitchen Staff / Teacher Aide to join our early childhood education team. This role primarily supports meal preparation and kitchen operations while also assisting in classrooms as needed to maintain required child-to-staff ratios, particularly during transitions and closing hours. Primary Responsibilities Kitchen Duties Prepare and serve healthy meals using whole, nutritious foods Follow all food safety, sanitation, licensing, and legal requirements Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment Track and accommodate children's food allergies and dietary needs Collaborate with staff to ensure timely meal service aligned with classroom schedules Teacher Aide Duties (As Needed for Ratio Coverage) When assigned to a classroom, the kitchen staff member will support teachers by: Assisting with curriculum activities and engaging positively with children Supporting daily childcare tasks including feeding, diapering, cleaning, and supervision Helping with opening and closing classroom duties (toy organization, chair prep, end-of-day cleanup) Following classroom routines, schedules, and positive discipline practices Maintaining punctuality and professionalism at all times Qualifications Required Previous experience working in and managing a kitchen Must pass a background check and Drug Test CPR Certified for Infants to PreK or willing to be Preferred Prior childcare, early childhood, or classroom support experience Ability to step into classroom environments calmly and confidently Able to converse in Spanish or have a strong desire to learn and practice Behavioral Expectations Treat all children, families, coworkers, and administrators with respect Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Collaborate effectively as part of a team Use positive, developmentally appropriate guidance when interacting with children Why Join Us Consistent daytime hours Supportive, team-oriented workplace Meaningful work supporting children and families Opportunity to develop skills across kitchen and classroom environments
