PREPARATORY ACADEMY ASSISTANT TEACHER

Part-Time | 2026-2027 School Year Grow as an Early Childhood Educator in a Joyful, Faith-Filled Community At St. James Lutheran Preparatory Academy, we believe in nurturing children, partnering with families, and supporting educators as they help each child learn and grow. Faith and purpose are at the heart of everything we do. Beginning with our youngest children, we strive to provide a safe, loving, developmentally appropriate Christian environment where children are known, cared for, and encouraged to grow in faith, character, curiosity, and confidence. We are excited to expand our Preparatory Academy team and are seeking warm, energetic, and dependable Assistant Teachers who genuinely love working with babies, toddlers, and young children. ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Assistant Teachers work closely with Lead Teachers to create engaging, nurturing classroom environments that support the whole child. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to grow as an early childhood educator while serving within a supportive, Christ-centered school community.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Classroom Support:

Partner with the Lead Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate, engaging, play-based learning experiences.

Child Nurturing & Safety:

Create a safe, loving, and supportive environment where babies and young children can explore, learn, and thrive.

Classroom Environment:

Help maintain an organized, clean, welcoming, and stimulating classroom and play environment.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with fellow teachers and staff to recognize and encourage the unique gifts and needs of each child.

Family Connection:

Build warm, positive, and professional relationships with parents and families.

Christian Ministry:

Help create an environment where children experience Christ's love through the care, encouragement, and example of their teachers.

Approximately 20-30 hours per week

Daily Schedule:

Flexible scheduling available between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Holiday Breaks:

Summer Opportunities:

Summer program opportunities may be available for employees interested in extending their work schedule.

COMPENSATION

$14.00-$15.00 per hour Placement within the range is based on education and relevant early childhood experience.
