The Assistant Program Instructor will be primarily responsible for providing quality assistance and support to sports programs and events, while maintaining a safe, non-competitive environment for YMCA participants/ members. No previous experience required. Must be a minimum of 16 years of age and have a means of transportation. Ability to communicate effectively with sports coaches, staff and parents of youth sports participants. Must have organizational and human relations skills in order to provide adequate support to sports programs. Must possess/acquire knowledge of all aspects of the particular sports league. Basic knowledge of the phases of physical education for all age groups served. Visually inspect participation space and equipment for safety. Current certifications in First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention and New Employee Orientation or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
