What We're Looking For:
Experience as a paraprofessional or comparable classroom support role is a plus. Strong knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics instruction, or reading readiness strategies. Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from classroom teachers. Attentiveness to the unique needs of students, particularly English Language Learners. Patience, empathy, and clear communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; further coursework or credentials in education are desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in delivering lessons in reading, writing, and math, or supporting foundational reading skills. Support classroom management and engage directly with students, fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere. Provide individualized or small group instruction and encouragement, especially for students who may need additional help. Aid in preparing instructional materials and organizing classroom activities. Cultivate a respectful and inclusive environment that is sensitive to the diverse backgrounds and needs of each student.
