Program Assistant - Castle High School Warrick County School Corporation Newburgh, IN Job Details Part-time From $19.01 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Filing Experience working with high schoolers High school diploma or GED Working with students School bus driving Full Job Description Purpose of Position The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in assisting teachers with overall education and supervision of the students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Provides overall assistance to teachers. Assigns work to students Takes over classes when teacher has parent conferences, problems, emergencies, etc. Prepares classroom materials; assists in cleanup of materials. Administers, scores, and assigns HSE program assessments and work. Maintains records such as attendance, collection of funds, field trips, student files, etc., and performs grading of student assignments. Monitors students at various times including class, lunch, seat work, assemblies, etc. Covers for Secretary during her lunch Assists students with APEX assignments and test proctoring. Assists individual students and small groups with learning tasks as assigned by the teacher. Assists students with make-up work. Assists substitute teachers. Administers first aid to sick or injured students until a nurse can take over. Assists special education students, when needed. Distributes materials to students. Records behavior problems. Prepares worksheets, letters, notes, etc. Performs other related essential duties as required. Minimum Training and Experience Required High school graduate with one to two years prior related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Preference given to applicants with degree or professional certification Position is paid 26 times a year. So total pay is spread out over the summer months. This position can be combined with driving a bus for full-time pay and benefits.
