Skills and Experience Sought:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience as a school paraprofessional or in a similar student support capacity Familiarity with classroom routines and working collaboratively with educators Ability to adapt communication to meet individual student needs Positive, patient, and reliable approach to assisting students High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in ASL or education is a plus Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated ASL support for a student, ensuring access to classroom instruction and activities Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers using sign language Assist teachers with instructional tasks to promote student understanding and participation Adapt materials and explanations to match the students learning style Track and report on student progress as requested by educational staff Help create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and procedures This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a positive difference every day, with a competitive rate of $27 per hour.
