Job Overview Hello from Discovery Learning Center! We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our child care team! The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for students. This role is essential in fostering a love for learning and helping students achieve their educational goals. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with children and families to promote their social, emotional, and academic development. This position is part-time with maximum 25-30 hours a week available. However there is potential for full time hours. Duties Must be patient, kind, and love working with young children! Maintain attendance and adherence to weekly schedule. It is very important that staff are on time and present for scheduled shifts. Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities, as well as adhering to classroom's daily schedule. Support classroom management to maintain a positive learning environment. Communicate effectively with students to encourage participation and engagement. Must be patient and kind to all children at all times. Communicate effectively with families about their child's daily activity and needs. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive educational approach and positive work environment. Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning. Must be physically able to stand, lift, walk, and be up and down frequently for the duration of your shift. Experience Previous experience working with students in an educational or childcare setting is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person. Strong skills in lesson planning and curriculum development are highly valued, but not required. Demonstrated ability in classroom management, patience, and effective communication skills.
