A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description
Starting wages: $13.25 - $15.53 hourly. Christian County Head Start Center. Will assist with coordinating, implementing, and reviewing health services functions. Will schedule health/dental/mental health screenings, exams, growth assessments and nutritional services. Will arrange and provide transportation of children/parents to health/dental/special services appointments as needed. Will maintain children's health services records in accordance with agency procedures. Must possess strong computer, data entry, and clerical skills to utilize and maintain an on-going case management system for monitoring and tracking children's health services. A valid driver's license is required. Working 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week, 200 days per year. A high school diploma or GED is required. An Associate degree with 6 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
