Student Employment Work Location Lexington, KY On Campus/Off Campus Off Campus Salary Range $18 Type of Position Student Position Time Status Part-Time Preferred Education/Experience Hours per Week 5-10 Classes will begin Monday, September 14, 2026. Current availability is needed on Mondays and Wednesdays between approximately 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Training and lesson materials will be provided. Job Summary You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK. Young Engineers is seeking an energetic and dependable Assistant Enrichment Instructor to help deliver hands-on, LEGO-based STEM classes for elementary students at Sayre Lower School in Lexington. The instructor will work alongside a Lead Instructor to help students build motorized LEGO models while exploring engineering, science, technology, and math concepts. Responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting students with building activities, supporting classroom routines and behavior expectations, taking attendance, helping with student arrival and dismissal, organizing equipment, and cleaning the instructional space after class.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with elementary-aged students, families, school staff, and coworkers Ability to follow lesson plans, safety procedures, and instructions from the Lead Instructor Ability to supervise students actively and maintain a safe, positive, and well-organized learning environment Dependability, punctuality, and consistent availability during scheduled program hours Patience and the ability to encourage students with different learning needs and experience levels Ability to work collaboratively as part of an instructional team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to learn basic LEGO building and engineering concepts during training Ability to complete required training and pass applicable background screening requirements Reliable transportation to and from local school sites
PREFERRED
