About Montessori Kids Universe Montessori Kids Universe (MKU) is a warm, child-centered Montessori school dedicated to nurturing independence, confidence, and curiosity from the earliest stages of life. Our Infant Community provides a peaceful, responsive environment where infants are respected as capable individuals and supported through consistent, loving care. Job Description Montessori Kids Universe is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and attentive Montessori Infant Teacher to join our Infant Community. This position works with infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months and is responsible for providing high-quality care in alignment with Montessori philosophy and Kentucky childcare licensing regulations. The ideal candidate understands infant development, values respectful caregiving, and is committed to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. Key Responsibilities Provide a safe, calm, and nurturing Montessori infant environment Implement respectful caregiving practices that support infant independence and development Follow individualized routines for feeding, diapering, sleeping, and movement Maintain required staff-to-child ratios at all times in accordance with KY licensing regulations Observe, document, and share developmental progress with families and administration Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized classroom in compliance with 410 KAR 2 & 3 regulations Follow all health, safety, supervision, and safe sleep requirements (including back-to-sleep practices) Complete daily documentation (feeding, diapering, naps, and observations) Communicate professionally and respectfully with families through daily reports and conferences Work collaboratively with co-teachers and school leadership Required Qualifications (KY Licensing-Aligned) High school diploma or GED required Must meet Kentucky Division of Regulated Child Care (DRCC) requirements for infant caregivers Completion of required orientation training and annual in-service hours per KY regulations Current CPR, First Aid, and Pediatric CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Must pass KY background check and fingerprinting requirements Ability to lift and carry infants and perform physical caregiving duties Preferred Qualifications Montessori Infant/Toddler certification or willingness to pursue CDA or early childhood education coursework Prior experience working in a Montessori or licensed infant program Skills & Attributes Patient, nurturing, and emotionally responsive Strong understanding of infant development and safe care practices Dependable, punctual, and professional Strong communication and teamwork skills Respectful of children, families, and Montessori philosophy Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Supportive Montessori school culture Professional development and Montessori training opportunities Paid time off and school holidays Childcare tuition discounts (where applicable) If you are passionate about Montessori education and committed to providing high-quality infant care in a licensed Montessori environment, we encourage you to apply and become part of the Montessori Kids Universe community.
