Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructional Assistant to join our team at Sebree Elementary School. This full-time position involves supporting classroom teachers in providing a high-quality educational experience for students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and assisting in the academic and social development of students. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional materials. Provide individualized and small group support to students, reinforcing learning objectives and facilitating skill development. Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed. Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement. Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization and management. Support students with special needs, adapting instructional methods and materials as necessary. Assist in the administration of assessments and record keeping of student performance. Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement educational strategies. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in education. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents. Knowledge of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques. Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students and provide support in a variety of learning environments. Proficiency in basic computer applications and educational technology. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children. Must pass background checks and any other required clearances as mandated by school policy.
