Job Description

Full-Time Infant Classroom Associate Teacher Job Description The Full-Time Associate Teacher will provide a safe environment where children can grow and learn with inclusivity and equity at the forefront. The ideal candidate will also support and be helpful to staff and students and is knowledgeable in child development and milestones. At Abeona House, we believe that children learn best through play and understand that we are simply facilitators in their process. This learning is intentionally designed by each teacher as they engage at a deeper level with each child and meet them where they are in the learning process.

Teachers are expected to make corrective actions once areas of growth are identified during annual evaluations or direction of the administration. Attending 75% of community events Daily Responsibilities Caring for the physical and emotional well-being of any child in the program, and in particular, your classroom. This includes diapering, assistance with potty training, wiping faces, washing hands, changing clothes as needed, assisting with self-care, negotiating play between children, and taking proactive measures to ensure a safe classroom. Maintaining a safe and attractive classroom that allows children to explore, play, and create. Complete required forms relative to child sign-in, and out, incidents, medications, daily reports, observations, and emails to parents. Communicate effectively with parents, other teachers, and administration about the needs of the child and any issues that arise. Teaching Duties Active engagement with children using developmentally appropriate practices. Dedication to learning and implementing the Reggio Emilia approach. Support improvements and adjustments in the classroom and work towards their own professional development in compliance with CLASS. Participation in staff meetings. Specific Full-Time Associate Teacher Responsibilities
  • The Associate Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to implement weekly lesson plans and facilitate classroom invitations and documentation ( bulletin boards, filling portfolios, and taking pictures)
  • Assist with conducting formal and informal assessments
  • curriculum planning, family communication, conferences, developmental milestones, and student support.
  • Implementing activities and invitations that go along with what the class is exploring.
  • Clean/Declutter the classroom at the end of the day ( sweeping, wiping down surfaces, resetting centers)
  • Assume responsibilities of the Lead Teacher in their absence when necessary.
  • Checking in with parents at pick up. Qualifications
  • Must possess strong writing skills and knowledge of Google Drive applications.
  • Must possess strong communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits This is an hourly paid position and the rate is $17 an hour.. After 60 days of employment, full-time teachers are eligible to enroll in health insurance. Employees are paid their regularly scheduled hours for all holiday school closures.
