Job Description
This position requires assisting teachers in the classroom with a wide range of student need, both academic and behavioral. The individual must have the ability to collaborate with teachers regarding student progress academically and provide individualized instruction.
Teaching and Learning
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of special education and classroom teachers
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor their progress
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with staff and students
- Flexibility to adjust to different issues with students
- Ability to assist and help students with their academic and non-academic issues to enable them to fully participate in learning
- Assist students in developing appropriate social skills
- May require toileting
