Job Description

Job Summary:

Barnstable High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to serve as the Assistant Marching Band Instructor. This is an after-school, stipend position that will support the Marching Band Stipend and Band Director in leading and directing the school's marching band program.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Marching Band Stipend and Band Director in planning and executing all marching band rehearsals and performances

Provide instruction and guidance to marching band members during rehearsals

Help coordinate the logistics of marching band events, including competitions, parades, and other performances

Support the creation and implementation of the marching band's curriculum and training program

Assist with the maintenance and organization of marching band equipment and uniforms

Serve as a positive role model and mentor for marching band members

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding marching band activities

Attend all marching band rehearsals, performances, and competitions

Perform other duties as assigned by the Marching Band Stipend or Band Director

Qualifications:

Experience in marching band instruction or leadership

Strong musical and conducting skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work collaboratively with the Marching Band Stipend, Band Director, and marching band members

Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend rehearsals and performances

Compensation:

Step 1: 4,055; Step 2: 5,066; Step 3 6,082
