Maimonides School, an Orthodox Jewish Day School in Brookline, MA is searching for a full-time Assistant Teacher to assist in Grades K- 5. The school is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with the skills, training, and experience to provide classroom support, act as an internal substitute, assist with recess and lunch coverage, and fill in for special events.
Responsibilities:
Follow and deliver structured lesson plans to students in General Studies, and possibly Judaic Studies, across grades K-5Provide individualized and small group support to students in the classroom Provide coverage for expected and unexpected faculty absencesAssist with ongoing classroom and behavior managementSupervise students during lunch and recess periods Identify and address the various learning styles of individual studentsKnowledge of basic Hebrew and Jewish curriculum is preferred, but not required
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Education or related fieldMinimum 1 year teaching experience, preferably at the Elementary School or Pre-K levelDemonstrated experience teaching or working with school-aged childrenVersatility to teach across a wide range of subject areas Maimonides offers an unparalleled dual curriculum in Judaic and general studies.
