Luce Elementary School Educational Assistant Canton Public Schools - 3.8 Canton, MA Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Qualifications School experience Working with students Experience working with elementary school students Full Job Description The Luce Elementary School is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as an Educational Assistant for the upcoming school year beginning in in October . The Educational Assistant will join a vibrant and supportive team that places a high priority on collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and commitment to the goals of the District and to our students, families and staff. The Luce Elementary School is an inclusive community for all students and staff and serve over 450 students students in grades K-5 The Luce Elementary School is elevating the educational experience for our students by cultivating a school culture and climate that promotes academic growth and social emotional learning for every student, and ensures high quality teaching and learning through the purposeful design of rigorous and equitable student experiences. We are eager to find the next member of our team who collaborates with other educators to create the conditions necessary so that every child experiences the true joy of learning, the excitement of achievement, areas of passion, and an authentic sense of belonging in their school.
JOB SUMMARY
To provide instructional and supervisory support to students. When applicable, provide support to students following Individual Education Plan (IEP) accommodations and modifications as specified by the supervising teacher, Team Chair and Building Principal.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
: Work with individual or small groups of students in work assigned by the teacher Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work prepared and assigned by the teacher. Alert the teacher to any problems or special information about the individual student. Assist the teacher in developing strategies for reinforcing or skill development based upon an understanding of individual student needs, abilities, and interests. Collect informal academic, behavioral, and social information as requested by the teacher. Collaborate with colleagues. Participate in professional development opportunities and in-service training as required within the work day. Support students in developing life and social skills Perform other duties or tasks specifically articulated within the collective bargaining agreement
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree preferred Teaching degree preferred Recent experience working with school-age children Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable Other requirements as deemed necessary by the Superintendent of Schools

Team Chair; Building Principal, and/or Director of Student Services and/or Superintendent
