If you enjoy working with children, can effectively manage a class, and think playing with LEGO® bricks sounds like a fun workday, you might be a great fit! Snapology is currently hiring Teaching Assistants for summer programs. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Lead Instructor with programs. In this role, you will: Work with groups of up to 22 students through curriculum-guided engineering and/or robotics activities; Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment; Support student behavior in the classroom by doing 1:1 check-ins and enforcing rules and procedures; Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology; Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies; Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions; Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs; Staff will be required to safely store company property and transport them to classroom locations; First aid/CPR certification (required) This is an independent contractor position. Hours are determined by your availability and how many events you accept.
Location:
You will be placed at an off-site, partner location. Depending on the week, you will be in different locations (close to your residence). We have camps in locations throughout Eastern MA such as Acton, Ayer, Canton, Carlisle, Concord, Groton, North Chelmsford, Pepperell, Sterling, Tyngsborough and Westford .
Hours:
Hours will vary based on scheduling needs, but will likely either be 8:30AM-3:45PM (full day) or 8:30AM-12.30PM (Half day). Applicants for this position are required to be available for the full week. Programs run from June 15th through August 28th. While it is preferred that candidates are available for the all weeks, week by week employment will be considered.
Training:
If selected for this role, an all-day training will take place in our North Chelmsford office.
Pay:
Instructors paid between $23-$27/hour, based on experience and qualifications Teaching Assistants paid between $15-$20/hour, based on experience and qualifications Opportunities for additional hours may include: Instructor training Materials inventory Birthday Party Assistant or Facilitator (additional training required)

Requirements:
1 or more years of experience working with children in a tutoring, camp, child-care, classroom or camp environment . Candidates with less experience will be considered for an assistant role. Interest and willingness to work with children ages 6-12 throughout the summer Background checks (CORI) and child safety training is required (during training). For Instructor position; Education degree or teaching experience recommended, teachers pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position.
For Assistant position:
Minimum education completed as of June 2025: Junior year of high school (college students and high school seniors are encouraged to apply). Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing On-time and consistent attendance is essential.
