Jul 6, 2026 Job Description 21st Century Summer Program Assistant Coordinator•Summer 2026 (2.5 positions available) The Summer Program Assistant Coordinator is a key figure in ensuring the seamless functioning of summer programs. Their essential responsibilities revolve around program coordination, effective communication with staff, and providing robust support to students. By overseeing logistics, fostering collaboration, and prioritizing student well-being, they contribute significantly to a successful summer experience.
Qualifications:
Currently employed in FPS; Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in education, child development, or a related field; or have equivalent job experience in the field; Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of academic enrichment workshops aligned with specific standards/focus in ELA, Mathematics, and Socioemotional Learning; Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations; Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve; Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders; Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social-emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student; Previous experience leading summer or after-school programs is preferred; Applicants must commit to being present for the full duration of the program.
Responsibilities:
The 21st Century Summer Program Assistant Coordinator will: Coordinate the referral process for students entering the program; Coordinate the registration/scheduling of students including all communications with principals, teachers, and parents; Order/process materials; Meet with students and families to collaboratively plan for an enriching and fun summer learning experience; Meet with principals, assistant principals, and the 21st Century Administrator to develop plans for literacy and math enrichment for summer programming; Coordinate the implementation of integration of literacy, math, and socioemotional instruction during the program; Serve as substitute instructor or roving support as needed; Maintain accurate student attendance records; Coordinate staff development meetings; Collect, maintain, and submit payroll records of all summer staff to the business office; Promote equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including, implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, with 504 plans and/or English learners (EL); Other duties as assigned. Total Compensation:
Not To Exceed (NTE) 139 hours $45/hr Not To Exceed (NTE): $6,255.00. This amount includes all program time as well as all prep and wrap-up required•timesheet submission for payment bi-weekly.

21st CCLC Grants, City Funding Applicants must commit to being present for the full duration of the program.
