Responsibilities Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with CACFP guidelines and approved menus Assist with menu planning, ensuring variety, nutritional balance, and compliance with dietary requirements Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, poaching and braising pots, food processors, and sanitizing tools Maintain strict food safety protocols by following sanitizing procedures, proper food handling practices, and hygiene standards Support food production during high-volume meal service times while adhering to recipe specifications and portion control Manage food storage, inventory, and ordering to ensure all ingredients are fresh and available for daily meal preparation Assist with maintaining a clean kitchen environment through regular sanitizing of surfaces, utensils, and equipment Qualifications Previous dietary aide or food preparation experience within a childcare or similar setting preferred Strong knowledge of menu planning, food safety management, and sanitation procedures Experience with food industry practices such as grilling, braising, poaching, and fine dining techniques is advantageous Demonstrated knife skills and proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment safely Familiarity with CACFP regulations or similar dietary program standards is a plus Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production environments while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate effectively with staff members This role offers an engaging environment where your culinary expertise directly supports children's health and development.
