Administrative Assistant

2026-2027 School Year

Twelve Month Position

  • 35 hrs.

per week

The Special Education Office is looking for a highly skilled, organized, and motivated person to perform office and clerical responsibilities. The successful candidate will have prior administrative/secretarial experience.

Qualifications:
  • High school graduate; BA preferred;
  • Two or more years of secretarial experience;
  • Working knowledge of office procedures and operation of common office equipment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Highly organized and extremely detail oriented;
  • Familiarity with special education law
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in dealing with classified information;
  • Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and judgment when working with a variety of constituencies;
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to help others;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent computer skills (Google, Microsoft, Adobe);
Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support for special education staffing and assignments
  • Process incident and restraint reports through the DESE portal
  • Provide administrative support for McKinney-Vento and Foster Care
  • Assist in the file coordination of students moving into district
  • Manage timeline tracking with service providers and team chairs
  • Support in the staffing and enrollment for Extended School Year
  • Track special education students exit from school.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Education
