Job Description
The Teacher Assistant is a member of the direct care staff and aides in the daily operation of a classroom or classrooms to aide in the development of the children in our care. The Teacher Aide works under and follows the directions of the Teacher he or she is assigned to and follows all federal, state and local regulations as well as the policies and procedures of Pakachoag Acres. The Teacher Aide is non exempt and may be a full or part time position and may be combined with other jobs in the agency to create a full time position. The Teacher Aide reports to the Teacher, Lead Teacher and Site Director. The Teacher Aide must possess all of the mental and physical attributes to carry out all required functions of the position. The minimum qualifications of a Teacher Aide are 1. Must be at least 16 years old or have a high school diploma or equivalent 2.Have the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff 3 No disqualifying CORI or DCF background check 4 CPR and first aid certified (may be done within 6 months of start date) 5 Meet the health and reference requirements of
