Job Description
Bridge Street Elementary School Paraeducator Preschool (1)26 hours per week Monday through Thursday from 7:25 a.m. 2:25 p.m.
Experience working with children. The Paraeducator works to provide the necessary instructional and non-instructional assistance and supervision, under the direction of the professional staff, for the effective and efficient operation of the school.
Assists both individual and small groups of students in both instructional and social situations within the school setting.
Assists individual children in completion of personal care and daily living skills.
General supervision of students as assigned within the school setting, including supervision both within and outside the school building.
Performs appropriate record keeping for the assigned tasks within the school setting.
Monitors student work for both small groups and individuals within the school setting.
Performs a range of clerical duties required within the school setting and specific to assignment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to transfer students to and from places within the school environment.
Ability to use computers and general office-type equipment.
Demonstrate facility with both English Language and general Mathematics.
Knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to transfer students from place to place within the building.
Must be able to work in a school-site environment, which includes periods of outdoor exposure up to 45 minutes at a time.
Hourly Pay Rate:
$24.92-$31.44 based on experience.Start date:
As soon as possible for the 2026-2027 school yearMinimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Associates degree or its equivalent:
ParaPro or similar assessment program certificate, or 48 hours college credits preferred. Professional development as required.Experience working with children. The Paraeducator works to provide the necessary instructional and non-instructional assistance and supervision, under the direction of the professional staff, for the effective and efficient operation of the school.
SUPERVISION
Works under the supervision of certified school personnel and under the general supervision of the principal. The performance of these functions may require the exercise of independent judgment of the Paraeducator in a range of instructional, supervision and other assigned duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assisting professional personnel in instructional assignments within the school setting, including assisting with classroom management and organizing instructional materials.Assists both individual and small groups of students in both instructional and social situations within the school setting.
