Aug 31, 2026 Job Description The PreK paraprofessional will work with the classroom teacher to provide support to students' in special education PreK program. The paraprofessional will provide hands-on support as directed by the classroom teacher. The paraprofessional will assist with the basic academic and communication functions of students and will administer some basic life skills, including but not limited to changing and toileting. Knowledge and training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Actively participate in the educational program and help in classroom management, lesson planning, and recording of student data, as requested.
  • Facilitate students' travel from classroom activities and appointments by giving specific directions and monitoring independent travel.
  • Participate in staff and /or unit meetings as appropriate.
  • Monitor all activities to ensure the safety and well-being of students and inform the teacher of any problems, conflicts and/or issues.
  • Work cooperatively with administrative and nursing staff to ensure that program activities are conducted in a safe and professional manner.
  • Actively participate in program and professional development activities in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Work with students to implement program goals and objectives.
  • Maintain professional standards and practices.
Terms:
182 school days, 7:25 hours per day, plus compensation for 10 holidays. Total Salary for 192 Days is $40,520
