Qualifying preparation may include:
An associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; or A bachelor's degree in a related field with applicable college coursework in early childhood education and/or child development. Knowledge of early childhood development, curriculum, and developmentally appropriate practice. Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build supportive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and professionals from diverse backgrounds. Commitment to professional growth, reflection, continuous learning, and program improvement. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Ability to obtain required First Aid and CPR certification and use standard computer/office equipment. Preferred Experience working specifically with infants and toddlers. Knowledge of The Creative Curriculum . Experience applying developmentally appropriate practices for infants and toddlers. Not sure whether your education and experience meet EEC requirements? Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position requiring the ability to safely interact with young children, including sitting or kneeling on the floor, bending, walking, moving throughout indoor and outdoor environments, and responding quickly to children's needs. The position may require safely lifting, carrying, and moving classroom materials, equipment, supplies, and/or children weighing up to 50 pounds , including walking over uneven or rough outdoor surfaces.
