26 per hour Make a Difference in the First Years of a Child's Life Educare Springfield is seeking a caring, collaborative, and dedicated Associate Teacher to join our Infant/Toddler team. You'll work alongside Lead and Mentor Teachers to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children can thrive. Key Responsibilities Build warm, responsive relationships with infants and toddlers. Observe, assess, and document children's health, development, skills, behavior, and individual needs. Assist with individualized planning, developmental assessments, referrals, and documentation as assigned. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning experiences that support children's social-emotional, physical, cognitive, communication, and self-help development. Help integrate health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, and family engagement into the educational program. Maintain a safe, healthy, engaging, and well-organized classroom and ensure children are appropriately supervised and supported. Encourage children's independence, confidence, positive self-image, and sense of success. Assist with lesson plans, newsletters, incident reports, documentation panels, and other required program records. Develop respectful, trusting relationships with families; communicate about children's experiences and progress; encourage family participation and learning activities at home; and incorporate family input into the educational program. Collaborate with Lead Teachers, Mentor Teachers, Family Engagement Specialists, and other Educare/Square One professionals to support individual children's goals and development. Participate in reflective supervision, professional development, local evaluation, the national Educare Implementation Study, and continuous program improvement. Assume classroom management responsibilities in the Lead Teacher's absence, consistent with applicable requirements and program policies. Assist with data entry and other duties within the scope of the position, as assigned. Qualifications Candidates must meet the applicable Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) minimum hiring requirements for this position. Required At least one year of teaching experience in an early childhood education program. Education and coursework that meet applicable EEC and program requirements.

Qualifying preparation may include:

An associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; or A bachelor's degree in a related field with applicable college coursework in early childhood education and/or child development. Knowledge of early childhood development, curriculum, and developmentally appropriate practice. Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build supportive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and professionals from diverse backgrounds. Commitment to professional growth, reflection, continuous learning, and program improvement. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Ability to obtain required First Aid and CPR certification and use standard computer/office equipment. Preferred Experience working specifically with infants and toddlers. Knowledge of The Creative Curriculum . Experience applying developmentally appropriate practices for infants and toddlers. Not sure whether your education and experience meet EEC requirements? Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position requiring the ability to safely interact with young children, including sitting or kneeling on the floor, bending, walking, moving throughout indoor and outdoor environments, and responding quickly to children's needs. The position may require safely lifting, carrying, and moving classroom materials, equipment, supplies, and/or children weighing up to 50 pounds , including walking over uneven or rough outdoor surfaces.
