West Boylston Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly motivated Paraprofessional (ABA Technician) to support students with significant academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in working with students with autism, significant behavioral needs, and/or a history of trauma in a supportive special education environment.
Position Overview:
The Paraprofessional (ABA Technician) will work under the direction of a licensed special education teacher and the district BCBA. The successful candidate will provide individualized student support and assist in implementing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).The position requires an individual who is comfortable working with students who may demonstrate significant or challenging behaviors and who can remain calm, consistent, and supportive during periods of behavioral escalation.Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and personal care supportImplement academic and behavioral interventions under the direction of the special education teacher and BCBAUtilize ABA principles and strategies to support student learning, independence, communication, and behaviorSupport students individually and in small groupsAssist with classroom routines, transitions, and behavior managementCollect academic and behavioral data as directedFollow individualized education programs (IEPs), behavior support plans, and safety/crisis intervention plansSupport students who may exhibit significant or challenging behaviorsAssist with personal care needs, including toileting and feeding, as requiredCollaborate with special education teachers, BCBA, related service providers, and other members of the educational teamParticipate in required training and ongoing professional developmentBenefits
