Job Description
St. Joan of Arc School in Aberdeen, Maryland, is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and enthusiastic Full-Time Instructional Assistant for Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 academic school year . The Kindergarten Instructional Assistant will provide support to teachers in a classroom setting. This support can include tasks such as grading assignments, preparing materials for class, and providing one-on-one assistance to students who may need additional support. Essential Functions Cultivate a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning. Prepare and organize age-appropriate materials and resources for students. Assist students with technology or other audio equipment. Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management. Ensures that arrival and dismissal procedures are conducted in a safe and orderly manner. Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff, and administration. Participate in all faculty meetings, retreats, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities as directed by administration. Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with school community. Position Qualifications Minimum High School diploma and 90-hour childcare certification. Experience in a Catholic School setting preferred. Must have a commitment to Catholic School education. Practicing Catholic preferred.
