School Age Co-Teacher/ Aide Perfect Angels Learning Center - 2.0 Clinton, MD Job Details Part-time | Full-time $16 - $19 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Professional development assistance Qualifications Childcare CPR Certification First Aid Certification Working with students Child Development Associate Certification Working with youth Full Job Description The Perfect Angels Learning Center is looking for a Maryland-certified after-school teacher for our after-school program. We are looking for a creative and engaging assistant teacher who can capture young minds during their formative years. As the assistant after-school teacher, you will assist with homework, and help lead STEAM-focused lessons. The ideal assistant teacher should have good communication, classroom management, technology skills, and a genuine love for children and their education. Core Responsibilities Maintain active supervision of children at all times and assist with accurate attendance and headcounts. Support daily classroom routines, transitions, behavior expectations, and a welcoming, organized environment. Use positive, age-appropriate behavior guidance, redirection, and problem-solving strategies. Assist children during dedicated homework time with reading, mathematics, writing, studying, and other age-appropriate academic needs. Participate actively with children and support structured enrichment, recreation, clubs, projects, and special programming. Share responsibility for cleaning, sanitizing, organizing materials, classroom reset, and promptly addressing safety hazards Qualifications Must be at least 18 years olds High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency, or Successful completion of college courses for credit ADA Certification Basic Health and Safety Certification Experience working with school-age children in child care, education, recreation, camp, tutoring, or youth programming. Strong classroom-management, communication, teamwork, and reliability skills. Ability to support children academically, socially, and behaviorally. Willingness to participate in outdoor, hands-on, and enrichment activities. Chess, gardening/agriculture, tutoring, arts, STEM, sports, music, clubs, or other enrichment skills are highly valued.
Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
