Job Overview Join our vibrant after-school program team as an After-School Program Assistant! In this dynamic role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children and youth. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster positive development, encourage participation in enriching activities, and support the overall well-being of young learners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience in youth development, education, and childcare. Responsibilities Transport the students from the local Elementary Schools to our facility. Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Facilitate a variety of youth activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational projects Maintain a positive behavior management approach to promote respectful interactions and cooperation among children Assist with homework help and tutoring to support academic growth and confidence Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including administering basic first aid or CPR in emergencies Collaborate with team members to plan engaging programs that cater to diverse interests and developmental need. Light Cleaning and Front Desk administration. Requirements Prior experience working with children or youth in educational, childcare, camp, or recreational settings Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire Strong communication skills with the ability to connect positively with children, parents, and team members Experience with special education needs or childhood development is a plus Ability to work outdoors and adapt to various weather conditions during outdoor activities Demonstrated team leadership skills and the ability to facilitate youth group activities effectively This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about fostering growth in young people through engaging activities, compassionate supervision, and supportive mentorship.
