Job Description

The Kumon Math and Reading Center of Hanover-Arundel Mills is looking to hire a candidate to work with children at our learning center. Here at Kumon, we strive to help each student achieve their highest academic potential by promoting strong work skills and study habits. The new hire will assist the instructor with grading Kumon worksheets, parent communication, student observation, and lesson instruction. This opportunity is ideal for student teachers and individuals interested in education and working with children.
Requirements:
Able to work in the U.S. Competency in Math up to Algebra and English fluency (Kumon Test will be administered) Experience working with children in formal or informal settings Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with adults and children Open-minded and willing to learn Enthusiasm for working with the children Ability to work part-time at least two days, Tuesday-Friday from 12:30-3:30PM or 3:30-7PM (or a combination of those times). Preferred Experience Prior teaching experience in school, church, daycare, Montessori, or other educational settings. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development theories and practices, including working with individuals with disabilities. Experience in lesson planning in literacy and math education Familiarity with classroom management strategies that foster a positive learning environment.
Pay:
$15.75 - $21.00 per hour
