Job Description

Assistant Infant Teacher Hometown Health Center Childcare Program Hometown Health Center is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Infant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants. This role works collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to meet the daily care needs of infants while maintaining a calm, professional classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with implementing age-appropriate curriculum and daily routines for infants Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment Anticipate and respond to infants' individual needs with care and attentiveness Communicate clearly and professionally with the Lead Teacher Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations Participate in required trainings, meetings, and DHHS requirements
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent required (or currently enrolled) CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain Must pass DHHS background checks Registered with Maine Roads to Quality or willing to become registered
Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Join a compassionate and supportive childcare team dedicated to providing high-quality infant care in a respectful, family-centered environment.
