JOB DESCRIPTION

The getDowntown Program provides commuting programs and services to downtown Ann Arbor employees and employers. A program of TheRide, getDowntown's partners include the City of Ann Arbor and the Ann Arbor DDA. The Program Assistant supports existing and new programs that encourage commuters to travel by bus, bike, carpool, walking, and more to reduce traffic congestion. The focus of the work will be customer communications, program support, and data entry. The Program Assistant can expect to interact with professionals in the government, nonprofit, and business arenas. Skills practiced during the position will relate directly to careers in business, marketing, communications, public administration, sustainability, urban planning, and public relations. Accountabilities and Essential Functions [1] : Communicate with stakeholders by making phone calls and responding to emails Manage contact lists and stakeholder information in Microsoft Excel Proofread written materials Prepare content for social media and newsletters Coordinating or supporting events including organizing event materials Representing the program at local meetings and events Notetaking during staff and committee meetings [1] These examples are intended merely as illustrations of the various types of work performed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, public administration, urban planning, public relations, or a related field Ability to work in-person between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm Strong customer service skills Professional email, phone, and in-person communication skills Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Attention to detail Ability to learn and apply procedures accurately Willingness to ask questions and contribute ideas Ability to work independently to complete assignments Experience with video editing and fluency in Spanish preferred Organizational Principles & Values Our Principles and Values reflect how we work, interact with one another, and serve our community.
