Job Description

Make a daily impact supporting middle school students as a contract paraprofessional fluent in American Sign Language. This full-time position runs from ASAP through June 4, 2027, and offers the rewarding opportunity to foster learning and inclusion for students who rely on ASL to access their education. Youll work directly within a middle school environment, using your ASL fluency to provide essential communication support, academic assistance, and encouragement. Your experience in educational settings will help create a welcoming, empowering classroom for all learners.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; must provide a high school or college transcript upon hire Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience working in a school setting, preferably with middle school-aged students Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all student interactions
Key Responsibilities:
Support students academic and social development through ASL interpretation and general assistance Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure students needs are met Facilitate communication between students who use ASL and their peers or teachers Assist students with classroom tasks, assignments, and activities as directed Adapt support strategies to individual student needs and learning styles This is a full-time contract position, providing stability and the chance to develop meaningful relationships with students throughout the school year.
