Job Description

Make a meaningful difference as a contract paraprofessional supporting middle school students! This exciting full-time position runs through June 2027 and is ideal for a dedicated professional fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) who has a passion for working within the school environment. You'll be part of a collaborative team, providing essential support to students and faculty. Your skills in ASL will enable students to participate fully in the classroom experience and foster a positive, accessible learning environment.
Qualifications:
Fluent proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) High school diploma required (transcript verification will be requested upon hire; college transcripts accepted as well) Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is a must Comfortable and experienced working with middle school students Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
Responsibilities:
Provide classroom support, ensuring direct communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Assist educators with instructional activities and classroom management Engage actively with students, encouraging participation and fostering an inclusive atmosphere Support students' social and academic growth throughout the school year Adapt to the evolving needs of students, offering encouragement and individualized assistance as needed This position offers a rewarding opportunity to impact students' lives in a supportive educational setting.
