Job Description

Job Title:
SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAEDUCATOR
Support students receiving special education services by assisting with academic, behavioral, and personal needs under the direction of the special education teacher. This role requires maintaining confidentiality, supporting student independence, collecting basic progress data, and collaborating with staff.
Qualifications:
CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification or willingness to become certified High school diploma (with college-level coursework in education preferred) Knowledge of elementary-level curriculum (preferred)
Essential Functions:
Ability to provide caring, responsive support to students with a variety of academic, behavioral, social, communication, and physical needs Ability to consistently implement individualized plans and supports to help students make progress toward their goals and objectives Ability to communicate effectively and build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and staff members Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the special education team and other school staff Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to meet students' individual physical, communication, behavioral, and emotional needs Familiarity with, or willingness to receive training in, toileting and personal care procedures as needed Ability to implement academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports under the direction of the special education teacher Ability to accurately collect and document daily data related to academic and behavioral goals while maintaining student confidentiality Ability to discreetly support and promote student independence across a variety of school settings, including classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and restrooms Willingness and ability to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance Ability to perform other duties as assigned, which may include recess duty

Monday - Friday, 29 hours per week
