Childcare Assistant Teacher

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing and educating young children while fostering their development in a safe and engaging environment. This role involves working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children, providing them with the support they need to thrive. The Child Care Teacher will implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development while ensuring the well-being of each child in their care. Responsibilities Implement lesson plans created by the lead teacher that cater to the developmental needs of the children in your care. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages social interaction and emotional growth. Monitor and assess children's progress in various areas of development, including cognitive, social, and physical skills. Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following health and safety regulations and following licensing protocol and procedures. Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and any concerns that may arise. Engage in behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior among children. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive educational experience for all children. Qualifications Experience working with children in a childcare setting, such as daycare or preschool is a plus Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages. Skills in infant care, toddler care, and behavior management are essential. Previous experience as a nanny or babysitter is a plus. Willingness to obtain CPR certification, a TB test, and complete a fingerprint background check. (Horizon will cover the cost of these) Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues. Ability to create engaging activities that stimulate learning through play. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children are crucial for success in this role.
