Overview We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our Lakeshore Little People's Place team in Hamilton South. This vital role supports classroom activities, promotes positive behavior, and helps create a safe, engaging space where young learners can thrive. Duties Assist lead teacher with implementing activities that align with high-quality childhood development standards. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a safe environment through effective behavior management techniques. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure their safety at all times. Foster literacy, math, and social-emotional skills through engaging instructional methods tailored to young learners' needs. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to build strong partnerships. Utilize educational technologies such as computers and interactive tools to enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with teachers to ensure educational compliance and regulation adherence while maintaining accurate documentation of student progress. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development and classroom behavior management. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members. Ability to supervise children responsibly while demonstrating patience, empathy, and mentoring skills.
