Schedule:
morning shift: 6:15 am - 7:45 am afternoon shift: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm We are seeking dependable and caring before and after school program aides to support our school-age childcare program. The ideal candidate will help create a safe, engaging and supportive environment for children before and after the school day. Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Before & After-School Program Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will support the implementation of engaging youth programs, supervise children in various activities, and ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' after-school experiences. Responsibilities Supervise children during before- and after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Facilitate engaging activities such as games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational projects that promote youth development Manage behavior using positive discipline strategies and effective behavior management techniques Assist with classroom management and support teachers or program coordinators in implementing curriculum plans Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols and emergency procedures, including CPR and AED operation when necessary Support children with special needs by applying inclusive teaching practices and understanding childhood development principles Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and concerns Requirements Experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings Knowledge of classroom management, behavior management, and childhood development best practices Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Strong child supervision skills with an active and energetic approach to engaging youth in outdoor work and indoor activities Ability to lead youth group activities confidently while maintaining a safe environment Experience with special education or working with students with diverse needs is a plus Excellent teamwork skills coupled with the ability to work independently in dynamic settings Join us in creating a vibrant after-school environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive! Pay:
