Assists teachers in district classrooms for the cognitively impaired and/or physically impaired by performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individual student education programs and positive behavioral support. Assists in daily classroom routines and facilitates students' participation in all activities including but not limited to: self-care, mobility, ambulation, defined health procedures, and swimming. Implements classroom and/or individual student behavior intervention strategies under the direction of classroom teachers. May operate various lifts, instructional or adaptive equipment and assistive technology devices.
