Job Description

Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) Aides work with students with disabilities to help them succeed in the general education classroom. Under the direction of the implementing teachers and school administration, LRE Aides assist designated students and escort them to and from various classrooms or areas according to the students Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The district is accepting applications for an LRE Aide position at the elementary building, with the possibility of an additional opening at the secondary building. Qualification Requirements:
Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent And meets of ONE of the following: Has an Associate's Degree Has at least 60 CREDIT HOURS Has passed a Parapro Assessment test. Willing to take a Parapro Assessment test Experience providing academic support to struggling students using researched based programs and strategies, preferred First aid, CPR and CPI Certified, preferred
Essential Job Functions:
Supervise/manage student behavior according to IEP/BIP to maintain order in a consistent, firm, and friendly manner Assist teacher with student(s) as needed with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials Conduct learning activities with student according to teacher direction and IEP Assist student with personal needs which may include feeding, lifting, assistance with toileting, and other personal needs Participate in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training or demonstrate willingness to be trained Assist students and staff with emergencies and drills in keeping with school safety plan Maintain strict confidentiality in all student and school-related matters Collect and interpret relevant data to support instructional and behavioral decision-making Provide direct supervision and ensure student safety at all times Follow direction from teachers and administrators and work cooperatively with all staff members Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in reporting to assigned duties Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support classroom and school operations
