Job Description

DayBreak Adult Day Services is seeking a Program Assistant to join our growing team. They work directly with participants to enrich and care for their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Rooted in Faith, community, and dignity, we strive to provide Christ-centered care in a joyful, respectful environment.
Summary of Job Functions:
Activities
  • The Program Assistant leads individual and group activities for the participants, problem-solving how to maximize engagement to individuals with physical, emotional, social, or cognitive impairments. Cleaning
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of DayBreak area including kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and group activity areas, including Sweep, Mop, Dust, Clean Bathrooms and shower room. Take out garbage. Meals
  • Assist with meals and snacks including baking, cooking, preparing, serving, and feeding participants, and clean up of dishes and kitchen area. Medications
  • Administer participants medications and treatments correctly and as trained. Personal Care
  • Assist participants with grooming, showering, toileting, transferring, mobility, safety cues, and other activities of daily living.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass background and health screening. Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification preferred. Experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities preferred. Good physical health. Able to work at a fast pace. Able to lift and transfer participants. Desire to work closely with older adults and individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Capable of handling emergency situations. Demonstrates sensitivity, empathy, and an interest in working our participants with physical and memory loss or impairment, and individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Reliable, flexible, patient, caring, and have a sense of humor. Able to work both independently and as a teammate, showing initiative and creativity. Our program is open Monday
  • Friday 8:00AM
  • 5:00PM.
Base Pay:
$15.00-16.50 per hour. Eligible for an additional $3.40/hr+ through MDHHS Direct Care Worker program. 9ivnHFnDTR
