Job Description
KinderCare is seeking a Specialized Pre K Assistant Teacher to support our Okemos KinderCare learning center. In this role, you will assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons for pre-kindergarten children, with attention to social, emotional, and academic growth. Responsibilities include supporting classroom management, preparing materials, supervising play and learning activities, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and communicating with families. You'll collaborate with a caring team, receive ongoing training, and help create an inclusive, engaging environment where every child can thrive and be prepared for kindergarten success. Responsibilities Assist lead teacher with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate pre-K curriculum Support classroom management and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment Supervise children during instructional, play, and transition times to ensure safety Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and activities Monitor and document children's participation and developmental progress as directed Communicate professionally with families and staff to support each child's needs Follow all health, safety, and cleanliness standards and center policies Assist with behavior guidance using positive, age-appropriate strategies Support individualized learning and inclusion of children with diverse needs Participate in training and team meetings to support continuous improvement Required Skills Early childhood classroom support Lesson and activity preparation Child supervision and safety Classroom behavior management Basic child development knowledge Parent and family communication Health and safety compliance Recordkeeping and observation Team collaboration First Aid and CPR
