Principal Qualification/Education:
Two years of study at an institution of higher education, Associate's (or higher) degree preferred, or accepted levels of achievement on the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment. The ability to work well with children and work cooperatively with the staff.Criminal History Check:

1. Assists in small group pupil instruction; tutors pupils at teacher's request; 2. Assists teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions. 3. Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units. 4. Handles attendance reports and related clerical functions with the teacher. 5. Assists in assembling/hanging materials on bulletin boards and keeping displays current. 6. Alerts the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student. 7. Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc. 8. Maintains a log for each selected student listing activities performed and time spent per day with each student. 9. Maintains high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students. 10. Escort students to and from various rooms as needed. 11. Maintain confidentiality. 12. Will assist with the supervision of lunchroom and playground. 13. Is responsible for maintaining personal time card. 14. Other duties as assigned. 15. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, teachers, and administrators.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS andABILITIES
Previous work in child care. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.Physical Demands:
