Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at GT Norman Elementary as a Paraprofessional. This part-time position is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting students and enhancing their educational experience. The Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and students to create a positive learning environment and assist in the academic and social development of students. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing concepts taught in the classroom. Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers regarding student needs and achievements. Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment. Support students with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or learning challenges. Facilitate communication between students and teachers, ensuring that students understand instructions and assignments. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays. Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred. Previous experience working with children, especially in an educational setting, is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development. Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing classroom dynamics. Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. Must pass background checks as required by school policy. Availability to work part-time hours, including potential afternoons and occasional evenings.
