Job Description

Position Summary:
The Community Center Program Assistant is responsible for assisting in all Community Center programs including general office and program related support including assisting visitors, clients, and staff. Serves as the main resources for questions and program guidance in the absence of the Director.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for the care and well-being of program participantsIdentifies and meet individual program participants needsProvides friendly hospitality to those we serveRecognizes and provide opportunities for group interaction, problem solving, and decision makingGuides group or individuals in activity plansCarries out established roles in enforcing facility safety regulations and implementing emergency proceduresCleans tables and vacuum carpets where necessaryServes breakfast, lunch, and snacks as neededPerform other duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness of all floors throughout the program area, including vacuuming the chapel and sweeping/mopping bathrooms, classrooms, hallways, and cafeteriaEnsure cafeteria cleanliness by washing tables, wiping down chairs and counters, and removing garbageClean and sanitize men's and women's restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and countersPerform additional cleaning tasks in other areas as assigned or needed
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Minimum of High School diploma/GED desired, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilitiesTraining and/or education experience in youth programming, ministry and/or social services preferredTraining and/or education experience in food and /or food service operations preferredMust be at least 16 years old
